Abstract EN

This research contains what the legal text in the law of hamourabi had discussed concerning the civil responsibility in its contractual and culpable divisons.

Since the law of hamourabi is considered to be the oldest law in the world; Naturally through comparing it with contem porary legislative texts, we find that the latter had rlied in it on many of its provisions.

In this research we will discuss the characteristics and the extent of civil responsibility in the law of; hamourabi and we shall discuss the civil responsibility for personal acts and the civil responsibility for things such as animals, real estate and tools.

' : Lastly we discuss the compensation in the civil responsibility of the law of hamourabi as relating Tow kinds, estimations and objectives of compensation, then we shall discuss the most important conclusions that we have arrived; at the through the legal articles in the law of hamourabi which had discussed this: responsibility and gave it a lot of details and attention.
