Abstract EN

The purpose of this study was to determine the degree of attainment of the general goals of Saudi science curriculum in the intermediate school.

For this purpose, a sample of 591 students in the first secondary schoolwho have been exposedto the curriculum in the intermediate school, and a sample of 42 teachers who are teaching the curriculum, were selected to obtain data that is needed to answer the research questions.

After the analysis of results, it was found.

from the point of veiw of students, that the first land the fourth goals have been attained to a degree above average, and the rest of the goals were attained to an average de-greee.

From the point ofview ofteachers, it was found that the fifth goal has been attained to a degree above average; the first and second goals to a degree less than average: the third, the sixth and the seventh goals to a minimal degree; the fourth and eighth to a degree less than minimal.

It was also found that both students and teachers agreed on average attainment of the second and fifth goals, but they did not agree about the attainment of the rest of the goals.
