For the purpose of establishing an accurate seismotectonic data base, covering the Jordan Dead Sea Transfonn Fault System most of the main recent .instrumental earthquakes generated on the system were relocated.

A sample of 20 events of the Wadi el Fara'a swarm, NW of the Dead Sea is presented, new locations are compared with those worked out, and published, by the routine seismicity mon- itoring organizations in the region, errors in epicentral locations (av- eraging 25 km) and their implications are discussed, ways to improve hypocentral locations are proposed.
