أثر استخدام الشرائح المصورة الشفافة في التغلب على صعوبات تعلم الكسور الاعتيادية لدى تلاميذ الصف الخامس الابتدائي بالمدينة المنورة

Abstract EN

The main purpose of the present study was to verify the effectiveness of using transparent slides as the educational media for teaching fractions to the Fifth Grade Pupils in elementary schools in Al-Madinah AIMunawwarah.

The major reasons to conduct this study were as follows : a.

The topic of fractions is considered as a very important part of Mathematics and one-fifth of the Mathematics course in the fifth grade is represented by fractions.

b.

This topic serves as a foundation for the students to continue learning Mathematics in the next grade level and above.

c.

By a survey of literature on mathematics education it was found that most of the educators in their research studies and conference papers had stressed that the students faced some difficulties in learning Mathematical concepts at all school levels, specially at the elementary stage.

This study comprised two groups, the control group and the experimental group for which the fifth grade students were randomly selected.

Analysis of the research data indicated that the performance of the pupils in the experimental group was significantly superior to that of the pupils in the control group at .05 level.

This proved the effectiveness of using the educational media in the teaching of Mathematics.

Recommendations include the need for using the transparent slides as remedy of some difficulties faced by the pupils in learning mathematical concepts at different educational levels.
