Abstract EN
This paper aims at tracing the attitudes of ancient Arab critics regarding telepathy.
It is found that the majority of Arab critics believe in the telepathy of meaning, whereas others express their belief in the telepathy of both words and meaning.
It is also observable that ancient Arab critics related telepathy to the poet's cultural background which is in turn intimately related to the creative poetic process.
This study concludes that we accept the position and attitude of the majority of Arab critics who believe in the telepathy in meaning or in partial telepathy in meaning and words.
It is, however, surprising to accept the belief of some Arab critics that comprehensive telepathy between two poets could take the form in both meaning and words, though one of them has not heard the poetry of the other.
This is, in fact, too unrealistic to accept.
