Abstract EN

This paper presents an investigation of the physical aspects by which a vortex sheet flow is excited by a two-dimensional wavelike distributed source placed on the surface.

An analytical solution of the stability equations is derived.

Furthermore, the amplitude of the resulting disturbance wave is derived.

The results show that the amplitude reaches a maximum when the wave number of the excitation source is the same as that of the disturbance wave.

Moreover, the dependance of the amplitude on the disturbance width vanishes when the width increases beyond a certain value.
