It is necessary to conduct researches and studies on water quality because of the effects on the public health, industrial and agricultural establishments.

A plant of the new Arbil water treats mem was completed since 1.982 where the people in Arbil city were depended completely on groundwater resource*.

This plant uses the oidinarly method for water treatment, where water -passes through preeoesses of.

coagulation, floceuliition, sedimentation, .filtration, and disinfection/ Treatment processes were described, as well as the constituents which are added or subtracted to or from the raw water, and the reactions occuring in each process.
