Abstract EN

This research deals with the concept of critical idiom; its emergence and development in the past and the present.

Moreover, it discusses the causes behind the dilemma of the critical idioms and defines its manifestations in different fields such as literary genres, approaches, trends and schools of criticism.

It deals in detail with some of the idioms which have been coined or used with much confusion and inaccuracy.

In addition to that, the research propounds a number of suggestions and recommendations which would draw attention to the seriousness of the problem and the way to solve it.
