This study was designed to determine the Role of the Registrar in Saudi Arabian Universities implementing the credit system as perceived by the academic officials of these universities: rectors, vice rectors, secretary generals, faculty deans, faculty vice deans, deans of libraries, deans of students affairs, deans of admission and registration and their vice deans, department head, registrars and director of admission.

Five hundred thirty-five questionnaires were distributed, four hundred sixty-three responses were perceived representing 86% of the total questionnaires.

The data derived from the 463 questionnaires were tabulated in tables showing the frequency of repetitions and percentages.

Based upon the results of the study, the following recommendations were highlighted: 1.The office of the Registrar should directly report to the Rector.

2.The Registrar’s academic degree should not be less than Ph.D.

3.The minimum experience in the field of admission and registration for the Registrar should not be less than 1-3 years.

4.A full time researcher should be appointed in the office of admission and registration.

5.Fourteen out of sixteen of registration and graduation functions should be performed by the Registrar.

6.Seven out of eight of the student record’s functions should be performed by the Registrar.

7.Six out of seven of the statistical report’s function should be performed by the Registrar.

8.Adequate and qualified staff should be appointed in the office of Registrar.

9.University managerial and financial support should be given to office of admission and registration.

10.Special academic training for future candidate to work with the office of admission and registration.

11.Post graduation programme in the field of admission and registration or student personnel.

12.Exchange meetings and visits between the officials of admission and registration in the five Universities.
