Abstract EN

The main goal of this study was to evaluate activities of the Media and Educational Technology Center of King Abdulaziz University.

A total of (180) questionnaires were delivered to three groups of users.

These groups are: -University faculty members -Graduate students - Undergraduate students (128) responses were received representing a percentage of 71% of the total questionnaires.

Data derived from the questionnaires were gathered and tabulated in special forms showing the frequency of repetitions, the percentages and the means.

Also Chi-Square Test was applied to the data collected from each of the various categories of questionnaires in order to determine any significant differences between the three groups.

Results of the analysis have shown an accord with assumption set up previously except for the seventh activity (drafting and handwriting and graphical analysis).

Based upon the findings and results of this study, the following recommendations were highlighted: 1 - To improve the following activities in the Media and Educational Technology Center: A - T.V.

internal filming for academic lectures and its documentations.

B - Preparation of video cassettes bids.

C - Drafting and handwriting and graphical analysis.

D - Lending movie films and their instruments.

E - Copy video films for the teaching staff and college.

F - Copy or lend audio cassettes for the teaching staff and college.

2 - The continuation of other activities in the Center with more back up from King Abdulaziz University.

From the factual experience of the researcher gained by him during his two years as a Director of the Media Center, he has recommended the following: 1- Financial and administrative support to the Media Center.

2- Exchange of meetings and visits between faculty members and Media Center officials.

3- A training programme for the faculty members on the production technology and equipment used.

4- A public relation programme intended to attract the students by introducing and explaining to them the various activities of the Center.

5- The recruitment of Audio-Visual experts for the Media Center.

6- Updating the skills of the existing Audio-Visual specialists and other employees as far as communication and interpersonnel relations techniques are concerned.

7- To include in the syllabus and programmes of the various faculties of King Abdulaziz University one course or more about Educational Media.

8- Postgraduate programme in Audio-Visual and Instruction technology.
