جاءت دراستنا عن الكوارث الطبيعية (الزلازل) و آثارها على بلاد فارس خلال العصر العباسي (132 هـ-656 هـ / 749 م-1258 م) و التي تعرضت تلك البلاد إلى ما يقارب (24) زلزالا تتفاوت بقوتها و عدد مرات ترددها و الأضرار الناجمة عنها فمنها عظيمة و أخرى شديدة و أخرى عظيمة جدا و أخرى هائلة و أخرى رجفة عظيمة و تلك المعلومات استقينها من مصادرها الرئيسية.
و قد لزم مني البحث أن أقسمه إلى مقدمة و مبحثين و خاتمة : المبحث الأول : التعريف بالزلازل لغة و اصطلاحا، قوة الزلازل ، تاريخها و مدتها.
المبحث الثاني : آثارها و المواقف من حدوث الزلالزل.
