Abstract EN

This research has aimed to study the physical ingredients for urban development in the town of Beit Lahiya, and to clarify its importance and explain how to use it in an optimal way to prevent natural resources depletion.

The research has revealed its importance in highlighting the role of natural factors in achieving an urban development of the study area from geographical perspective.

The research has focused on studying the characteristics of natural environment of the study area, namely the geographical location, site features, urban climate characteristics of the city and water resources, and analyzing their suitability for urban development.

The study concludes that the city of Beit Lahiya has a set of potential distinguished resources – though its limitation – can be considered as an internal physical power for achieving the desired goals of urban development, on condition that they must be exploited and developed, properly, according to pragmatic and programmed.
