Abstract EN

The present analytical study deals with the professional development of the teachers of higher education in Algeria.

We attempt to discuss the status quo of this development as of one the most important challenges that the Algerian state tries to promote in order to develop the professional performance of the teachers of higher education.

This can be achieved only by a set of methods and programs related to professional development and linked to professional performance requirements represented in teaching, scientific research, serving society, and international cooperation.

The aim of this study is to know if the professional development programs followed in Algeria have really led to develop the professional performance of teachers of higher education or not.
