Abstract EN

The research paper endeavours to provide a brief historical review of a set of actively used basic terms related to popular cultural studies over a period of more than two ccnturies.

The paper also rejects the term of " At-Turath Al-Musiqi: i.c.musical traditional culture" and the term " Al-Mourooth Al-Musiqi " i.e.musical oral It comes up with new interpretations and indications which arc somehow different from what has already been said in this regard.

These arc divided into three main levels with a view to facilitating the comprehension of tin: musical material when the naively, instinctly, mentally and systematically created musical heritage is studied
