Abstract EN

This study deals with the weaknesses that characterized the production of dictionaries by the Arabs.

These weaknesses are represented in incautious imitations of these Dictionaries for each other ; neglecting and shortening some of the frequently used Words.

Moreover, it concentrates on the overtaking and verbosity of the meaning, Besides tackling the semantic development issue exposing the shortcomings in some Dictionaries as far as this issue are concerned.
