Abstract EN

This study aims at exploring the possibility of introducing artistic standards for writing the Holly Qur’an.

It also aims at explaining the differences and similarities between the style of the calligrapher Osman Tahain writing the Holly Qur’an and the rules of Naskhcalligraphy handwriting used by other calligraphers.

The researcher chose the version of MadinatHolly Qur’an, published by King Fahad’s Press inMadinat, in accordance with the ministerial decree No.

5 / 1407 H, Citation of Hafs according to Imam Asim Al Kofi.

This version of MadinatHolly Qur’anwas written by the calligrapher Osman Taha, / the normal Holly Qur’an No.1 published in 1430 H.

(Surat 1-16 from Surat Al Baqra) for the purpose of this study.

The study was carried out according to the descriptive method being the most appropriate for the study.

According to the researcher’s measurements he concluded that the style of the calligrapher Osman Taha in writing the Holly Qur’an using Naskh in the version of Madinat Holly Qur’an contributed to the development of elaboration values, abide by spontaneity, stability and limited artistic diversity.

This takes into consideration the functional factor which is supposed to achieve clear documentation, as calligraphy’s objective in this respect is to facilitate reading the text easily and clearly as far as the Naskh designing may allow.
