Abstract EN

This study aims at describing self-images and the images of the others among Jordanian students.

It examines the differences in these images that attributed to sex, political affiliation, party, religiosity, residency, origin and attitude toward peace.

A sample of 881 of whom 359 (41%) males and 522 (59%) females is selected.

Findings of the study show positive and negative images of self and others (Arabs, Jews and the West).

Self-positive images are concentrated on generous, brave, peace-loving.

Positive images about the Jews are: progressive, control, practical, industrious and loyal.

Positive images about the West are industrious, practical, intelligent, progressive, control, and loyal.

Negative images about self are: backward and negative images about Jews and the West are the same and concentrated on: rude, aggressive, deceptive, distrust, arrogant.

Some implications are discussed.
