Abstract EN

This study deals with the Algerian national movement, between the end of the Second World War and 1954, and the events that occurred both at the national level and the international one.

Such events directly influenced the trends of the Algerian national movements, which benefited from their immediate past experience and the new events occurring at the international arena.

They were, thus, inspired to adopt a new mode of struggle and to attempt to unify their efforts against the colonial policy by participating in the elections while secretly preparing for armed struggle.

This state of affairs applied particularly to the M.T.L.D movement.
