Abstract EN

The present study was aimed to find out the relationship between the parental authority as perceived by adolescents and the personality features and also to determine the differences among adolescents themselves with different gender and the educational level of the father.

To carry out its objectives, one scale of parent authority and another one about personality profile were administered to 253 male and female adolescents who were chosen at random from the eleventh grade in high schools.

The results revealed the following: 1) There are statistically significant differences between adolescents with a positive and anegative perceptionon parental authority in personality traits, that is, insocial and responsibility aspects, 2) There are statistically differences between male and female adolescents regarding parental authority perception, 3) There are statistically differences between the educational level of the father and the parental authority as perceived by adolescents
