Abstract EN

The current research (Metaphor in Contemporary Iraqi porcelain) attempt to study the concept of metaphor in structuralism of ceramic body as ideas and contents that are employed to contemporary porcelain product, and to aware the concept of metaphor in art, we must understand the relationships and organization among the porcelain specificity and integration with the aesthetic and cognitive phenomena, and in order to make isolation of porcelain from the rest of the achievement of knowledge, it has created for itself the creative space in the metaphor, so the potter sought with his cultural skills and experimental attempts that enriched him for merging his art with upscale skill making him to open up to most of the arts, and that created such a fertile area, he expatiate in freedom of execution and the sanctity of the expression to share time and place leading to the formation movement from its fragmentation focus in the world.

Based on the nature of the topic the research was subdivided into four chapters, the first chapter of it include the research problem and its importance and its necessity, and the aim of the research (Identification of the mechanisms of functioning the metaphor in contemporary Iraqi porcelain), also included research terms specification .

The second chapter contained the theoretical framework and previous studies, that composed of three sections, the first one dealt with (Metaphor, the term and concept), (types of metaphor) and (Metaphor mechanisms), the second section dealt with firstly (the metaphor of the human philosophical thought) and secondly (in literature and poetry), while the third section explore (The features of metaphor in contemporary Iraqi porcelain), and chapter ended with the indicators of theoretical framework .

And the third chapter included research procedures where the research community of (35) to extract a sample of (5) models intentionally, to cover the limits of the search by descriptive approach and descriptive analytical method .

The forth chapter has included the results and conclusions of the research that express thoughts and soles based on the functions of unknown traditional porcelain kind through the opening narrative readings of the ceramic text, where the potter sought to access the technical matter of metaphor through confirmation of the value of signifier to the signified, to give an aesthetic property through the metaphor mechanisms.

The researcher also worked hard to mention a number of recommendations and suggestions.
