Arabic Abstract
هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة أثر استخدام السجل الحواري الإلكتروني في تحصيل طلاب المرحلة الأساسية العليا بالأردن في مهارة الكتابة باللغة الإنجليزية كلغة أجنبية.
تكونت عينة الدراسة من عينة قصدية تتألف من (٥٠) طالبة من طالبات الصف الثامن من الكلية العلمية الإسلامية أثناء الفصل الدراسي الأول للسنة الأكاديمية ٢٠٠7–٢٠٠8.
و قسمت العينة إلى مجموعتين : ضابطة و أخرى تجريبية.
تتألف كل مجموعة من (٢٥) طالبة.
قامت المعلمة بإعطاء موضوعات التعبير إلى المجموعتين الضابطة و التجريبية ليقومن بالكتابة عنها.
استخدمت المجموعة التجريبية السجل الإلكتروني الحواري في الكتابة عن هذه الموضوعات إلى المعلمة.
أما المجموعة الضابطة فقد استخدمت الطريقة التقليدية في الكتابة.
أعطيت المجموعتان امتحانا قبليا و آخر بعديا و قد تم استخدام الامتحان نفسه و تم بعد ذلك تصحيح الموضوعات من قبل ثلاثة مصححين متبعين معيار تصحيح معين و تم احتساب المعدل الحسابي للعلامات الثلاث لكل طالبة.
أظهرت نتائج الدراسة بأن أداء المجموعة التجريبية كان أفضل من أداء المجموعة الضابطة في الكتابة.
لذلك توصي الدراسة معلمي اللغة الإنجليزية باستخدام طريقة السجلات الحوارية الإلكترونية في تدريس الطلاب مهارة الكتابة.
English Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of using the electronic dialogue journals on upper basic stage students’ EFL writing performance in Jordan.
The subjects of the study consisted of fifty female Grade eight students enrolled in the Islamic Educational College during the first semester of the academic year 2007-2008.
The students were divided into two groups, each consisting of twenty-five.
The experimental group interacted with the teacher electronically by using e-mail for writing about each topic in the topic list prepared by the researcher.
The control group used paper and pencil for writing about each topic in the topic list.
Both groups were pre-tested and post-tested using the same test.
The students’ compositions were scored by three raters according to El-Koumy's marking scale.
The average of the three raters' marks was taken for each student.
The findings showed that the experimental group performed better in their writing performance.
The study, therefore, recommended that teachers of English consider the use of electronic dialogue journals in their writing classes.
