Abstract EN

This study is both theoretical and analytical.

It offers an analytical and interpretive reading of youth culture by reviewing many explanatory proposals and empirical evidences.

It explores two approaches of youth culture : the first is from the past, which was formed by various subcultures in the twentieth century, including working-class children culture, which is featured teddy boys, Mods, skinheads, and punks, as well as for middle-class children, such as existentialists, campaign for nuclear disarmament, new left, and hippies.

The other approach reflects the present, which these sub-cultures are turned into a prevalent culture in the new Millennium.

A generation of young people all over the world whose members share the same values, styles, and ubiquitous use of Internet.

The youth culture today makes up the millennium generation, those young people who were born from 1980 to 2000.

They are characterized obsession of technology, high rates of ego and narcissism.

They are also obedient teenagers, obsessed with fame, having self-confident and open-to-change personalities.
