Abstract EN

This research was intended to know the meaning of semantic deviation.

It also considers its effects on literary language, with respect to clarifying the meaning and the aesthetic value of the text.

It is worth mentioning here that semantic deviation is an approach to stylistic analysis.

It has developed a clear vision of the element of "surprise" retaining the aesthetic value of literature.

The theory of language structure, as depicted in Dalail Alijaz (signs of miracles) by Abdul Gahir Ajurjani, is characterized by a deep insight a long with a considerable explanation and analysis of what is known as "The meaning of meaning" or "the secondary meanings".

This is parallel to the notion of semantic deviation which represents the meaning of a word in isolation at all levels of meaning and with the different intentions of a writer.

This can only be complete through the consideration of cohesion and the coherence of the text.

This study has revealed, through analysis and application, that semantic deviation styles reveal a lot of meanings in the Arabic text whether it is poetry or prose.

They also reveal that there is a strong link between the modern notion of deviation and the theory of language structure (Annathm).
