Navigation and commerce have flourished in the Arab Gulf area from a long time.

The Arabs generally and the Kuwaitis particularly have their own navigational and commercial activity which extended throughout various historical ages although Kuwait has not emerged in this name.

But the historical records and documents had referred to it as Al-Kareen (its old name).

They affirmed that its inhabitants transmitted goods, seafaring, and commercially bargaining with the other regions of the Arab Gulf and the far places so it became the commercial mediator of the region.
