The African Coast of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden has gained a strategic importance because in addition to its natural resources, it is considered, for its geographic location, a connective area in navigation.
Hence, many great powers tend to dominate it.
The Egyptian government sent expeditions specialized in geography and exerted efforts to keep peace, security, and stability and to prevent violations such as slave trade.
The area has later become one of the important centers for the Egyptian interests
