Abstract EN

This research deals with the biography of Jerusalemite jurist, scholar and worshiper Raja'a Bin Haywa Al-Kindi and his role in public life in the Umayyah Era.

He was born in Baisan city and settled in Jerusalem till his death.

He learned Jurisprudence and prophetic tradition (Hadith) by numbers of companions and followers of the prophet till he became a famous Jurist scholar and worshiper in Great Syria (Al-Sham Province).

He taught many students Islamic Doctrine and Hadith in Great Syria, Hijaz (Now part of Saudi Arabia), Egypt and Iraq, and contributed effectively in the political, administrative and military life during the Marwani Era.

He worked as a director of Bayt-al-Mal (Treasury) and Diwan Al-Rasael (Communication).

He supervised the construction of the Dome of the Rock.

Al-Kindi also worked as a secretary to the Marwani Caliphs and supported them to face the parties which questioned the legitimacy of their ruling as Caliphs.

He fought dissident groups and contributed in fighting the Romans.

Because of Al-Kindi services he won the respect of the rulers (Caliphs), scientists and others.
