Language tasks and meeting the اan٧جage communication needs of linguistically talented learners of Arabic This research aims at a) identifying the most important language communications situations in which linguistically talented learners of' Arabic take part, and the language requirements and tasks they need ١[؛ the different communication situations; and b) proposing a teaching unit in the light of these identified needs and tasks.

To fulfil these purposes, the researcher developed two ؟uestionnaires measuring Arabic linguistically talented learners’ communicative language situations and their needs in communicative situations, and a form for analyzing their language tasks in communicative situations.

The researcher found that the Arabic linguistically talented learners get involved in ١٥ communicative language situations, and have 30 communicative language needs.

It was also found that there are no significant statistical dirï'ei'ences between the views of the learners and teachers on the communicative situations and language needs gestionnaires.

Finding that the language needs of the Arabic linguistically talented learners can be met through using 27، tasks, the researcher proposed a three-lesson teaching unit for meeting their language needs ١٦؛ communicative situations.
