The scene is set by an introduction to the criteria and principles of iqra’, Qur’anic readings (qira’al) teaching, and a definition of the muqri’, Qur’anic readings tcacher, and their requirements.

The main body of the article falls into two main parts.

First, the seven criteria of iqra’ are listed: (‘'being sincere to Allah; (“'directly learning from authorities in the field; ('"'knowledge of Islam; ("'knowledge of Arabic language; (v'Qur’anic consonantal and vocal orthography (rasm anddaht)(vl'; placement of pauses (waqD and counting (‘add) of ayahs; (' "'memorizing a comprehensive reference book on qird'at of both the general rules (usul) and the particular instances (farsh).

Second, the principles of iqra’.

The author holds that there arc four inclusive principles: (''consideration of the number of ayahs taught at each session; ("'teaching in gradual steps; ('"'who should read first? (,v'Not to teach more than one person at once.
