Abstract EN

Iran had witnessed during the past 1978-1979 a radical revolution that toppled imperial monarchy of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.

With the beginning of the events of the revolution in 1978, the Shah started his attempts to stay in power and follow it in various ways , including changing governments which ruled Iran under his direct guidance.

The government of General Gholam Reza Azhariwas one of those governments from which the Shah tried to maintain his authority against the People's overwhelming Revolution that began to spread all over the country and threaten his authority .

The government of General Gholam Reza Azhari was a military government and it was more like a declaration of martial law in Iran .

But, nevertheless it failed to restore security and control over the revolution It did not achieve the goals which it came for .So it fell in the end and announced its resignation
