Abstract EN

The present study aims to identify the main characteristics of the international tourism during the first decade of the (21) Century and its geographical analysis.

The importance of the study lies in its theme, international tourism, which has become one of the most important economic and social phenomena of our time and one of the pillars of the economies of many countries due to its effective contribution in the total national income and employment opportunities.

The diagnosis of the main characteristics of the international tourism helps to adopt a development plan for the successful conservation of tourism potential, which is owned by the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

The research problem is the lack of attention of researchers in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to the subject of diagnosis characteristics of international tourism, which is characterized by uncertainty, and therefore couldn't take benefit from it when developing plans for tourism development in the region.
