Abstract EN

This paper discusses the possibility of improving the situation of public libraries in Iraq, Through the use of technological tools and leave the traditional solutions.

Especially since the effectiveness of libraries services today, linked to what can be provided of information, not what how many books that including, also linked to the effectiveness of society who benefit from library, not the large of its building.

From this point we are trying here to offer some practical solutions for the computerization of public libraries, and increasing trend towards applications, programs, and systems that used in automated service and procedures, at the lowest costs possible material.

The researcher trying to review the most important systems that can be benefit to the public libraries.
