Abstract EN

Massive splenomegaly leading to hypersplenismis one of the main elinieal manifestations of Gaucher’s disease, an autosomal recessive disorder caused by deficieney of beta glucocerebrosidase.

Traditionally, splenectomy has been the treatment of choice, but this may be associated with a high incidence of post splenectomy sepsis.

To obviate this risk, partial splnectomyis recommended as the treatmentof choice.

This is the case report of 12اا year old girl with Gaucher’s disease complicated by massive splenomegaly and h>persplen؛sm treated successfully by partial splenectomy.
