The texts of the collection “The Suffocation of Love and Morning” by Edward El-Kharrat are characterized by blurring boundaries and breaking the legality of representation.

The texts emulate the structure of the “Labyrinth”, where there is no guarantee of getting anywhere.

Another reality infiltrates the overall “realistic” structure, weakens the original reality and substitutes for it a new “imagined” one.

The reader loses both knowledge and a sense of direction.

He exerts himself searching for meaning through an exhaustive reading which recruits peripheral elements.

At an early stage, those elements appear to be insignificant.

At a later stage, however, through an exhaustive reading and scrutiny of details, they turn out to become much more important than previously thought.

Those elements even become more important than the “core” elements previously considered more important.
