Abstract EN

This research is a study of of Ibn Al Najjar's methodology in writing his book titled 'Al Duaruh Al-Thaminah of Akhbar Al Madinah'.

The research highlights the importance of this book and it’s valuable historical content.

The book presented historical information about the city Al Madinah', it’s cultural, political, religious and social history.

The study also shows the significance of the book and the data included about the political, religious, and social history of Al-Madinah.

It represents Ibn Al-Najjar's use of observation technique as a source for writing some parts of his book, particularly those concerned with planning and geographical features.

In addition, the study deals with the impact of Ibn Al-Najjar upon his contemporary historians and his successors.

This revealed some pitfalls of his style of writing adopted in 'Al Duaruh Al-Thaminah of Akhbar Al Madinah'.

One of the main objectives of this study is to draw the attention of contemporary historians to the significance of Ibn Al-Najjar's book.
