Abstract EN

The aim of this study was to identify some of the factors affecting memorization skills of 1st Secondary Class Students in Tulkarm Governorate-Palestine during the 2nd semester of the academic year 2012/2013.

The sample of the study consisted of (150) students (males and females) as (5%) of the whole population of the study which consisted of (4810) secondary school students.

The researcher used a questionnaire to identify the factors associated with memorization of 1st secondary class students; it consisted of (26) questions which were classified into four areas to measure factors affecting memorization.

To reveal the results of the study, the following statistical tests have been used: t-test for independent samples, analysis of variance and the calculation of frequencies of the sources of pressure.

Results of the study showed that there are statistical differences pertinent to the factors affecting students’ memorization skills in connection with achievement and study branch; but there were no statistical differences with regard to gender variable, as the statistical mean reached (3.694) with a percentage of (73.88%), this level being considered to be high.

The researcher recommends that it is necessary to provide convenient learning environments in all the secondary schools to encounter memorization decay which is a direct result of bad economical, social and political situations.
