This study has been designed to determine the effect of different doses of pomegranate juice 2,4,6ml /Kg body weight on the glucose level of white male New Zealand rabbits after six hours of drenching, and lipid profile in blood serum after 15 days of drenching.

Sixteen male rabbits aged 9-11 months have been divided into four groups.

(4 rabbits each).

The first group that has been considered a control has been given a standard ration and drenched normal saline .

While the others have been drenched pomegranate juice 2,4,6 ml/ Kg body weight in addition to the standard ration .

Blood has been taken directly after 6hs of drenched from the ear vein and glucose test has been accomplished.

The result revealed that there has been a significant decrease in the blood glucose level in rabbits drenched pomegranate juice compared with the control group on the probability level (P 0.001), and this decrease appeared the best in the fourth group that drenched 6 ml/Kg body weight.

After 15 days of daily drenching ,food has been stopped from rabbits for 16 hrs ,then blood has been taken directly from the heart and lipid profile has been accomplished ,lipid profile of blood has showed a significant decrease in cholesterol, triglycerides, low density lipoproteins, and very low density lipoproteins.

In contrast the high density lipoproteins show a significant increase in the three volumes of pomegranate juice drenched groups compared with the control at portability (P 0.001).

This study has showed that the single-dose of pomegranate juice 6 ml/Kg body weight has the best decreasing effects on glucose and improvement of lipid profile of white male New Zealand rabbits.
