Abstract EN

When Israel was busy expanding its influence all over the continent of Africa, up to the late 1960’s, the Arabs watched and did nothing, or almost nothing, to offset that.

But in the early 1970’s, and especially since 1973, they have started a massive economic aid program to Africa to help the African States to overcome the financial difficulties and to keep Israeli influence at the lowest possible boundaries.

However, a few years later, it become obvious that the objectives have been far from being accomplished, and the voices of what has to be done were loud and clear, books, articles, and some valuable works have been written on Arab-African cooperation, but much of what has been written is either narrow ٨؛ scope or general, and is sometimes clouded w؛th speculations and misunder-standing.

The study attempts to describe, explain and assess the general patterns and directions of Arab aid to Africa and identify its goals, objectives and strategies.

It is hoped that this study may contribute to expanding, understanding and enchancing further future cooperation and the construction of firm relations based on mutual understanding and new concepts.
