Abstract EN

This paper tackles the problem of International Terrorism on the light of International law and its implications at a time when terrorism has become a world phenomenon worthy of serious concern.

The first part of this paper defines international terrorism and sheds light on its motives and aspects, whilst the second part focuses on some pertinent problems resulting from international terrorism, paramount which is the blatant violations of human rights.

The paper also reviews in detail some of the most salient conventions dealing with crimes of international terrorism such as : The Tokyo, The Hague and Montreal conventions of 1963, 1970 and 1971 respec-tively.

The paper is concluded with outlining the reasons behind the failure of the international community to eleminate the pathological phenomenon of interna-tional terrorism.

Such failure calls for concerted international action to safeguard and stabilize international relations and to bring a virtual termination of all actions commits by terrorists who are in point of fact, the enemies of the human race hostis hamani generis.
