Abstract EN

Based on Radwa Ashur's book «Al-Hadatha al-Mumkina» (2009), this paper discusses the efforts of the late Arab researchers to publish the early Arabic novels.

Discrepancies thus appear in these considerably unknown works.

The paper also discusses Ahtnad Fares Al-Shidyaq's narrative work «Al-Saq 'ala al-Saq...», showing the ef- forts and variations in evaluating and understanding this work by many researchers, especially in differentiating between the imagined autobi- ography and the novel following the European model.
