Poverty does not mean only insufficient income, but also deprivation of nutrition, health care, education, training, adequate housing and economic and political participation.

There is about 1, 3 billion people in the world suffering from this phenomenon.

Therefore, poverty eradication is the most important objective of development.

Accordingly, almost all countries of the world seek for the appropriate policies and programs to reduce poverty.

Like the other developing countries, Algeria ones suffer from the spread of poverty which defers from one country to another.

In this respect, the rural region have the highest poverty rates.

However, these countries rely on a range of diverse socioeconomic policies, in order to reduce the spread of this phinomenon.

Nevertheless, all these efforts have gone in vain due to the combination of a number of reasons, in which the absence of good governance is the main.
