Abstract EN

Immediately after the 1967 Six-Day war and the Israeli occupation of the whole Palestinian territories, the occupation authority has acted vigorously to totally control and dominate the natural resources of the occupied Palestinian territories, mainly land and water.

The military commanders in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip have issued a series of military orders that restrain the local Arab inhabitants' economic, social, and political aspects of life.

In addition, the military orders have put more than 30% (1991 Statistics) of the Gaza Strip land under the Israeli command on the pretext of security, and hence deprived the Palestinians from utilizing and benefiting from their own land.

During the period between 1976 and 1991, The Gaza Strip had wit- nessed a very limited economic and social progress, which has been reflected in the slow achievement of the needed infrastructure for a healthy and sustainable development.

The 850 thousand population of the Gaza Strip (1991 statistics) fac- es many constraints for development, including confiscation of land, rapid increase of population density, limited natural resources, eco- nomic hardships, as well as the many restrictions on the use of land and water.

This study deals with the following basic topics: 1.

Analyzing the Israeli political map.

Studying the occupied natural resources of Palestine: - Controlling and dominating the land: goals, classification, and resulting effects.

- Studying the water status and problems (Quality and Quantity) associated with its future and use.

3.

The legal and statutory right of land and water.

4.

Conclusion and recommendations.
