Abstract EN

This study aims at shedding light on the importance of the title in the poetic test and its importance concerning poets and critice.

This is due to the nature of the relatioan between the title and the text through the semantic extention of the title in the text and the semantic condency of the text in the title.

It also attempts to look for the sources of the title and the reasone behind the poets choices of these title and their semantic dimensions.

This is carvied out through examining some title which are at literary sources whether those of Arabic or western origins.

for some modern Arabic poets like Al-Sayyabs Al-bayyatis,Amal Dunkul, Nazar Kabbani and Mahmoud Darw ish.

However, this study tries to reveal the differences among those poets to employ such sources
