Abstract EN

The prophet's mosque occupies a great position in the hearts of Muslims and we can see that every Muslim wishes to get acquainted with its landmarks and history.

So, this research dealt with one of the important landmarks are the cylinders surrounding the honorable Rawdha.

In addition to that it is noticed that these cylinders became absent from the Muslims' minds and perhaps from their sight and that made this researcher tackle these cylinders, study their locations and names and the characteristics of each one of them and this made them very important for every Muslim because each one of them has a historical significance beginning from the character of prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) and his family and ending with his honorable companions (may Allah be pleased with them).

They also have a historical importance and they pass through reconstruction phases during the past periods and the Rashidi Caliphs paid a great attention to them and the same was for the Umayyad caliphs and others.

In addition to that many narration were mentioned about these cylinders that we can even notice that a certain event led to naming these cylinders with distinguished names such as the repentance cylinder (AlTawbah) and other names.
