Abstract EN

The purpose of this study was to compare the three short diacritical marks: by analyzing them physically, in order to test the ancients, look to diacritical marks in terms of lightness and weight.

The research is divided into two section: the first displays the ancients’ opinion of this issue andshows their efforts in the study of diacrotocal marks’ and mentions modern additions in this area.

The second part of the research deals with the physical analysis of the three diacritical marks’ after being tested to the modern scientific equipment in similar contexts and benefit from these devices of digital datd and images related to the most important characteristics of spectral sound: frequency, pressure, energy, and speech time.
