Abstract EN

This paper is a survey of political and administrative conditions in the Region of Azerbaijan during a period of one century that starts from the beginning of the third century and ends by the second decade of the fourth century H.

the survey is preceded by geographic background about boundaries and important cities in the region.

The paper then surveys political entities which ruled the region under the Abbasid Caliphate such as: Tahirids, Saffarids and Sajids through primary Sources.

The paper also discussed relations of these Entities with the Abbasid Caliphs and effect of their weakness on the Region.
