يدرس البحث التنوع الحيوي النباتي في منطقة جبل العرب، التي تقع جنوب سورية على الحدود الأردنية السورية و تشغل مساحة إجمالية تصل إلى 377 ألف هكتار.
الموقع الجغرافي لمنطقة البحث يمتد ما بين خطي الطول 15 36° و 37° شرقا و خطي العرض 07 32° و 10 33° شمالا.
طبوغرافيا يتراوح ارتفاع الموقع عن سطح البحر ما بين 615-1803م.
المناخ متوسطي معدل يصل فيه الهطول المطري إلى 535 مم و يتناقص إلى حدود 200 مم في الجزء الشمالي و الجنوبي الشرقي لمنطقة البحث.
التركيب النباتي لفلورة الموقع يضم 423 نوعا نباتيا، تشمل العديد من الأنواع الحرجية مثل Quercus calliprinos, Pistacia atlantica.
إلى جانب الأصول الوراثية لبعض الأشجار المثمرة و المراعي و المحاصيل مثل Amygdalus, Crataegus, Trifolium, Vicia, Astragalus, Triticum, Hordeum..
Abstract EN
The present article deals with the plant biodiversity at Jaba I l-Arab.
Which lies in south of Syria at the Jordanian borders.
It extends between longitudes 36° 15 to 37° E and latitudes 32° 07 to 33° 10 N.
The topography of the study area varies between level land reaches about 615 m a s.I.
and high mountain rise up to 1803 m.
The climate of study area is generally considered as a modified Mediterranean climate the highest rainfall amount occurs in the top of mountain (f in EI-Arab station 535mm / year).
And the lower in the SI and M of the study are (about 200mm / year) .
The floristic aspect comprises more thant 423 plant species e.g.
(Jiten us.
Pistacia, Crataegus Amygdalus, Trifolium, Vicia, Hordeum Astragals.
The geological, topographical, and the yearly rainfall iso-lines maps of study area were imported in a GIS.
