Abstract EN

The study was conducted to identify impediments to knowledge management at KSA universities as well as the effects of expertise and gender factors on such impediments.

The study sample consisted of (655) academic staff members randomly selected from Umm Al- Qura and Tabuk Universities.

Employing descriptive approach, researchers administered a survey comprising 40 items.

Results revealed that the human factor to knowledge management impediments is high (3.81), whereas the technical and managerial factors are medium with respectively the score of (3.62) and (3.55).

Overall rate of knowledge management impediments at Saudi universities was medium with the score of (3.66).

The study revealed no significant differences that can be attributed to the gender variable.

However, the study revealed significant differences that can be attributed to the field of specialization variable.

The highest score came from respondents specializing in humanitarian disciplines.
