Abstract EN

The present study aims at identifying the academic problems that Bethlehem University students are facing.

Academic problems represent a multi-dimensional phenomenon which has been addressed by both theoretical and field studies.

In order to fulfill this objective, the two researchers developed a 59 item questionnaire.

The items were distributed among six dimensions: problems relating to study skills, academic adaptation, academic advising, relationship with faculty members, curricula, exams.

A random stratified sample of University students (448 male and females students) was used, constituting 20% of the study population.

The study indicated significant statistical differences in the degree problems related to academic level in favor of freshmen.

Findings also pointed out the existence of a statistically significant negative counter relationship between the cumulative average and the degree of academic problems, while there were no statistical significant differences in the degree of academic problems in regard to gender, faculty and place of residence.
