Abstract EN

Sexual abuse has its disastrous repercussions on abused children; such negative effects may dog their steps throughout their life, and may even lead to that they practice the same on their relatives, friends or peers.

Child sexual abuse also badly affects the personality of the child.

The research is intended to identify the causal factors of child sexual abuse from the viewpoint of student advisors; determine its manifestations; associated impacts and whether there are statistical differences in the opinions of the study sample in terms of specialty, and number of service years in the field of education guidance.

Research also sets forth ways of dealing with sexual harassment cases as well as measures that can be taken to curtail such abominable phenomenon.

A questionnaire was administered on a random sample of student advisors of both private and government intermediate schools in Riyadh City (number of investigated student advisors was 120).

Figures have shown that among the causal factors of sexual abuse were bad company, financial temptations, weak faith and poor school supervision.

Figures have also shown that using obscene sexual words; facial gestures, sexual touches and sleep disorder were among the manifestations of sexual abuse.

The associated impacts of sexual abuse according to figures were losing selfconfidence, losing confidence in others and poor academic performance.

No statistical differences were found among the study sample.

Research summed up with a host of findings, the most crucial of which were: taking tough measures against abusers and boosting the role of students' advisors in the detection and dealing with all forms of delinquency.
