Abstract EN

The current study aimed at discovering the relationship of the counselling self efficacy with personality traits of the psychological counsellor.

Study sample consisted of (209) counselors from Guidance & Counselling Diploma Students at a number of Saudi universities, Self Efficacy & Eysenck (E.P.Q) Questionnaires were applied to the sample of the study.

The study showed that there were statistically negative significant relationships between self efficacy and all its sub dimensions and psychosis, neurosis.

And, there was also a statistically positive significant relationship between self efficacy dimensions and extraversion.

Results also found that psychosis and neurosis were the most contributing personality characteristics in predicting self efficacy.

Moreover, the results indicated that there were statistically significant differences between male and female counsellors in extraversion and lying in favor of male counsellors, in neurosis in favor of female counselors.

In addition, there were no statistically significant differences between male and female counsellors in psychosis.

Also there were no statistically significant differences in counselling self efficacy and personality characteristics as a result of years of experience or approved foundations to become a counselor.
